The Best Marketplaces to Buy Plants

There’s a lot of marketplaces to buy plants from, these include Palmstreet, WhatNot, eBay, Etsy, Facebook, MonsteraX, and Blossm.

Navigating which platform to use can be tricky, as it’s hard to know which have the best deals for plants, and are good at keeping scammers off the platform.

We’ve spent thousands of dollars across these marketplaces and have spoken with buyers and sellers to help you navigate your options and find the best place to shop.

Top choices

Palmstreet

Palmstreet provides the best buying experience with an extremely fun buying format. It has both common plants, and rare plants. It’s the most popular plant marketplace right now, and for good reason.

MonsteraX

MonsteraX mainly focuses on rare plants, and advertises itself as the official home for rare & variegated plant enthusiasts. Right now, the most expensive plants are a variegated Monstera BMF at almost $18k, and a variegated philodendron spiritus sancti at $15k. While we enjoyed the plants on MonsteraX, Palmstreets app seemed a bit more user-friendly, and offered a wider variety of plants and a larger supply of plants.

Facebook Groups

There are a ton of Facebook groups out there for buying all types of plants! It’s one of our favorite places to find the plants we’re looking for. It’s also one of the hardest to navigate when you’re newer. There are a ton of groups run by scammers, and it’s hard to know who to trust. It’s a great place for those who figure out how to navigate, but a minefield for those who don’t. Check out our other articles for verified groups and our homepage for our featured sellers.

Runner ups

Ebay

Ebay has shown to be a great place to find unique plants that other marketplaces may not have. Also, because the app has been around the longest, it’s a pretty seamless buying experience with good purchase protection for the buyers.

Etsy

Plant collectors have mixed opinions about Etsy. Out of all the marketplaces listed, it by far has the most amount of issues with scammers. That being said, it is one of the top places for plant sellers and has one of the biggest groups of people interested in buying plants. If you’re new to plant buying, look out for red flags on Etsy as it’s a really common place for new hobbyists to get scammed.

In summary

Palmstreet is our favorite plant marketplace we’ve purchased from. It not only offers a fun buying experience, but also has a wide-variety of plants that leaves buyers happy. The team is continuously iterating on the product, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for Palmstreet!
